Are Legos Toxic
Yes new Legos are safe.
Are legos toxic. Lego bricks as well as 20 other toys tested such as dinosaur models and farm animals were found to contain all nine harmful elements. I dont think theyre toxic just harmful. Like many plastic toys legos too once upon a time contained traces of harmful chemicals.
Lego for example has reported the presence of cobalt antimony and molybdenum in its toys all chemicals listed by Washington state as a high concern to childrens health. Well for those who are here for a quick answer. I will save you from them.
Are Legos toxic if melted. If ingested over an extended period of time the consequences could be severe. Initially they were used as couplers on trains but later were included as a fun play feature on other models in the early 1990s.
The study found that swallowed Legos like coins and other small objects can quickly and painlessly pass through the body. As for other toys you ask my about often heres my opinion. Ive been building hundreds of fake lego sets for almost 4 yrs and Ive never had a toxic brick yet.
My kids play with Legos more than any other toy and fortunately they are made of ABS plastic which is of pretty low toxicity concern. Melting plastic smells awful and the fumes can be toxic. No they both just need to learn to communicate but you have to remember theyre also teenagers.
As for the United States and Canadas toy safety requirements plastic toys can still contain traces of PVC but with an allowable. Furthermore Ive never swallowed one and choked to death as far as I know. My kids have a lot of this stuff but its all made in China and some of it has been found to be contaminated with heavy metals.
